Is set to open in May, 2007 and is open to over 50s living in or around Alway and transport will be available for those who need it to and from the club.

The club is a great place to meet new people for a spot of lunch provided by qualified volunteers and take part in an activity which could range from computers for the petrified, floristry, walks and crafts. The group is sponsored by Newport Local health Board, Newport City Council and Communities First. It aims to provide affordable healthy food in a friendly social setting. If you are interested in going along or would like to volunteer to help out contact Sian on 01633-281819.

LLISWERRY POND UPDATE: The work has been carried out in some atrocious weather. The pond excavation and storage of material has been completed.

Installation of pathways and fishing pegs and the remediation of ground levels around paths has been completed but additional work is needed due to health and safety concerns.

Warning signs had to be put in place and temporary access routes through the area had to be installed because of mud and pools caused by the works process.
