LAUGHTER will fill the air when a drama group open their spring production at Bridgwater Arts Centre from Wednesday March 28.
Blake Drama Club presents Star Quality, a comedy about the engagement of leading lady Lorraine Barry, based around Noel Coward's play Dark Heritage.
Lorraine is depicted as a fading star but a brilliant actress, who tries to manipulate everything to her own advantage, including insisting on a non-threatening second-rate co star, charming the innocent playwright into rewriting the play to suit her and trying to dominate the director.
The Mercury spoke to Blake Drama Club's publicity manager Sylvia Kallow ahead of the performance.
"Rehearsals are going extremely well, we have a very experienced cast including a little dog called Pip.
"The production is full of well-performed scenes held together by some well-known 1950s music and it's a performance that can be enjoyed by the whole family."
Adapted by Christopher Luscombe and directed by Terry Kellow, Star Quality runs until Saturday, March 31.
Tickets are on sale now priced £6 and concessions £5 from the box office on 01278-422700, Bridgwater Bookshop and Bridgwater Arts Centre.
