A principal has expressed his concern at police bosses who have left schools in Colchester without police liaison officers for more than six weeks.
Essex Police said the loss of dedicated school liaison officers is only a short-term problem, which is being reviewed.
Alan Whelan, principal at St Benedict's College, said after 20 years of having a good working relationship with the police, the liaison officers were removed "without any notice or explanation".
