FLOODING could hit King's Somborne within the next couple of weeks. That's the concern of Environment Agency bosses who are monitoring groundwater levels across Hampshire.
Officials say the watertable in the village remains high and is still rising - despite the dry weather of the last week or so.
A spokesperson said: "This month, groundwater levels have risen rapidly across much of Hampshire. We have had reports of flooding in some villages.
"Following the dry and sunny weather, levels are starting to peak in a few areas but for many villages, levels aren't expected to peak for another week or two.
"Across Hampshire there could be further cellar flooding and external groundwater flooding. All communities that have been previously affected by groundwater flooding should be aware of the prevailing conditions and ensure that they are well prepared."
