DORSET Scrapstore is holding an open day tomorrow in Puddletown to show that recycling can be fun and creative.

The charity will have a range of materials available - mostly new and unused - that would otherwise go into a landfill site.

Co-ordinator Keith Dear said: "The open day is a great introduction to Dorset Scrapstore if you've never been before and it's great fun rummaging through the shelves and bins.

"Also on display will be the results of the latest swap with other scrapstores in the south west, widening the range of items available that can add variety and excitement to learning and craft activities."

Paper, card, foam, fabrics and sticky-backed plastics are among the items collected from industry and commerce and made available to schools, nurseries, scouts and other community groups as well as to individuals.

Dorset Scrapstore is at Three Lanes End and will be open from 10am to 8pm.

Members and anyone who joins on the day will be offered a carrier-bag to fill with materials for free.
