A woman arrested following a road traffic accident near Truro at the weekend has been released without charge.

A man injured in the accident was taken to hospital but his injuries are no longer said to be life-threatening.

It was about 8pm on Sunday when a collision occurred on the A30 at the junction with the Mitchell turning.

The collision involved a white Seat Inca van and a red coloured BMW 316, both vehicles sustained considerable damage.

There were two occupants in each vehicle.

The driver of the van was a 48-year-old woman from Paignton, she received no injuries but was arrested and taken to Newquay police station. Her passenger, a 49-year-old man from the same address was injured and taken to hospital.

The driver of the BMW car was a 28-year-old lady from Tunbridge Wells who suffered leg injuries and her passenger, a 29-year-old lady also from Tunbridge Wells suffered similar injuries.
