BURGLARS broke into a Newport school centeen five times in two weeks and stole food and drink including potatoes, cheese, milk and desserts.
Gwent police are investigating the break-ins at the St Julian's Infants and Junior Schools site on Beaufort Road.
The thefts all took place overnight, on November 30 and December 1, 7, 11, and 12.
PC Lesley Morgan, ward officer for the St Julians area, said the thieves entered the canteen, which is shared by the two schools, by breaking through a window.
She said the thieves caused up to £1,000 of damage in the break-ins, but did not target any other areas of the school.
