WITHIN minutes of a Falmouth artist's website being launched and with the help of an advertisement in the Packet, Nanette Martin has been asked to produce a painting for the King Harry Ferry Company.

Nanette received a call from her website administrator saying that her new online gallery had been completed and within minutes of logging on to have a look the phone rang again.

On the other end of the phone was the managing director of the King Harry Ferry. Tim Light. He told Nanette's father, John, that he had seen the advertisement for her new website in the Packet that morning and had logged on to look at her work.

Mr Light was so impressed with what he saw he rang immediately to see if he could commission a painting of the new ferry.

John Martin said: "We simply could not believe it. We had just been told a few minutes before that the website was up and running and then we got the call. It just goes to show that advertising really pays and advertising in the Packet really works."

Mr Martin explained to Mr Light that Nanette did not sell her original paintings as she grew too attached to them, but prints and postcards of the painting could be made available for sale on the ferry.

Nanette said: "It is not a commission, as I don't do them. I never sell my paintings because they are all my babies. But I am so pleased that Mr Light asked me to do this, and I am looking forward to starting immediately."

Nanette added that the painting would not be ready until Easter 2007 as she suffers from fibromyalgia which is a musculoskeletal pain and fatigue disorder, and she becomes tired very quickly.
