BURY Round Table members enjoyed a dinner to mark the club's 70th anniversary.

Nearly 90 guests attended the event at the Elizabethan Suite in Bury.

Bury Round Table 109 is ten years younger than the national movement itself which celebrates its 80th anniversary later this month.

Providing the laughs was comedian Graham Walker from The Grumbleweeds.

The Table's newest member, Steve Aston, was inducted on the night, and past members from as far away as the Lake District attended.

Bury Round Table honorary president Steve Simpson said: "We currently have 12 members and for us to celebrate our 70th anniversary is a milestone in itself. It just goes to show how strong the commitment and enthusiasm for the Round Table in Bury is.

"We are an organisation with a conscience and we have a varied programme, catering for all tastes."
