BRIDPORT will adopt a new attitude when they host Elmore in Toolstation Western League Division One tonight (7.45pm).

The Bees have collected just one point from their last five home fixtures and boss Paul Hammond is determined to shake it up in a bid to wipe the slate clean.

The West Dorset outfit have come unstuck against teams that are intent on defending at St Mary's Field and pinching the odd goal on the break.

They have struggled to break down stubborn sides that get men behind the ball and then often concede through frustration.

"We really need to deal with those teams that are going to do that," said Hammond.

"Next year, if we are up there or thereabouts we need to be able to deal with it better.

"It is very frustrating. Both myself and Martin (Underhay) have talked about it on numerous occasions. We have looked at it in training and tried different formations as well.

"Part of me thinks that the players need to wipe the slate clean and start with a new attitude at home.

"Rather than do the same sort of things we might need a different preparation, shake it up a bit and change things round."

Bridport defeated Weston St Johns with a workmanlike performance on Saturday.

And they will be hoping a change of atmosphere tonight, in the club's first evening kick off since January, could be exactly what they need to start bagging points at home.

Hammond said: "We should be concentrating on the stuff that we do well, particularly away from home, and take that into games when we are here.

"Obviously with the night time games there is a different atmosphere and maybe that is a game when we need to look at our strategy and make a change."

Bridport skipper Andy Hall is a doubt for tonight's game along with Martin Peters, who picked up a foot injury with the very last kick of Saturday's match.

However, Hammond is likely to welcome back flying forward Chris Skinner while Richard Jackson, who missed the trip to Weston St Johns through injury, will undergo a late fitness test.
