Police are hunting a vicious attacker who left a man in hospital after thrusting a glass into his face in a Leyland pub.

The incident took place on Friday, March 16 at 11.45pm in the busy Fox and Lion pub on Fox Lane.

A 21-year-old male man was approached by another male who later smashed a glass into his face and quickly made off from the pub.

The injured man was taken to Chorley hospital for treatment to cuts to his face. He has since been released after receiving stitches.

No arrests have been made by police as yet and they are appealing to anyone who was in the Fox and Lion ant the time of the incident to contact them.

DC Paddy Lavelle who is investigating the incident, said: "This was a particularly violent assault and to help our investigation we would like to speak to anyone in the pub and saw this incident to get in touch with us."
