Talks will take place tomorrow on how to spend an £8,000 windfall in Corsham.
The town council has £8,175 to spend from its policing and community safety budget as it no longer has to fund police community support officers.
Councillors are due to meet with local inspector Gavin Williams tomorrow night at Corsham Town Hall to discuss options for the funding.
Initial proposals of helmet cameras or a police vehicle have been shelved but other ideas include door chains for local pensioners and portable CCTV cameras.
Talks have also taken place with the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust and it is possible that a grant could be given to the charity, which has helped more than 150 people in the Corsham area.
