MARATHON man Bernie Hollywood plans to run seven 26.2-mile courses in seven days with his five other teammates to raise £20,000 for Barnardo's.

Bernie, 47, from Bromborough will be taking on this tremendous feat on Monday, April 19, in the Flora London Marathon.

He and his team will then run the course a staggering six more times until they join 40,000 other runners in the actual marathon on Sunday April 22.

He said: "I have so many good luck messages and support from family and friends that I am determined to achieve my aim of running seven marathons in seven days.

"The majority of people think I'm mad for taking this on but they are supportive all the same."

Bernie is currently running 80 miles a week, which he will increase to 100 miles over the coming weeks.

During the last 25 years he has completed 15 full marathons and over 100 half marathons, he has run some 900 miles for a John O'Groats to Land End Run and he trekked unsupported to the Geographic North Pole.

So far he has raised in excess of £350,000 for various charities through these events.
