TWAS a dark and windy evening when members met at the Coronation Hall for their March WI meeting. During the evening there was a report of the recent group meeting at Westonzoyland where there is now a new group treasurer.

At the Burrowbridge village quiz the WI team came second and are now looking forward to the next quiz. Final travel plans for the trip to Strode Theatre were arranged and further details sorted for the outing to Tyntesfield House in August, for which the coach only has a few spaces left.

After a successful stall at the Burrowbridge café/market, earlier in the month, plans were currently being made to provide refreshments at the annual parish council meeting in May, full details next month.

This month's speaker was Mrs Knowlman from Wellington, who gave a very funny insight into the life and times of Joyce Grenfell, interspersed with excerpts from her famous monologues - remember her catch phrase "George, don't do that!"

On April 16, Brenda Courtie will speak on Laughing at Life with a Vicar's Wife and the competition will be for a spring buttonhole. Anyone wanting further details about the meetings is welcome to either go along on the third Monday of any month, or ring Ann Bastable on 01278 662459. The group look forward to seeing you there.
