Sir - I often wonder how Oxford City Council could get it all wrong.
Cherwell District Council (CDC) supplies three bins of three different colours. They are all the same size and are adequate. Brown = garden waste and straw. Green = household waste, Blue = everything else except glass and plastic bags. I think this works. They have also supplied extra strong bags for glass even though they won't take this away.
The fortnightly collection works well, until we get severe heat, which is when the maggots start, but that is another matter for CDC. Not everyone has freezers big enough to put in bones etc awaiting the following week's collection.
Why didn't Oxford City Council buy the same bins as CDC? Why haven't they taken the same policy? It is not confusing when you live in the CDC area. Whereas if you live within Oxford City Council limits it just infuriates you!
