FORMER Weymouth boss Garry Hill says he can't wait to get tonight's clash with his old club over and done with.

"To be honest I am going into it with very mixed emotions," said Hill, who was relieved of his duties at the Wessex Stadium in January. He and his Terras' assistant Kevin Hales subsequently took the reins at Rushden and Diamonds.

"I don't look at it from the point of view of coming out of it as a winner in any way or form," said Hill.

"Whichever side wins I feel I can only come out of it as the loser.

"I have still got a lot of friends at Weymouth among the players I took there and I have the utmost respect for Jason Tindall who is a young manager with great potential for the future.

"I had a great relationship with the supporters at Weymouth and after the things we achieved there I just look back with disappointment at the circumstances which led to my leaving.

"It's disappointing for me to see where they are sitting now and to think that we could have been on the verge of League football but for the decisions taken by certain people.

"But now I am at Rushden and Diamonds. I have a job to do for them and that is part and parcel of being a football manager.

"I will look forward to seeing a lot of old friends tonight, but I will have very mixed feelings whatever the result and, to be honest, I will be pleased when the game is out of the way."

Hill said Weymouth's result was still the first one he looked for and he was shocked to hear they were beaten 7-0 by Cambridge United at the weekend.

He said: "I didn't look at that result with any satisfaction whatsoever and if we beat them tonight that will not give me any particular satisfaction either."

Raphael Nade, skipper Trevor Chaills and full-back Narada Bernard are all doubts for Weymouth's trip to Rushden tonight.

Player-coach Roy O'Brien is a long-term absentee with an ankle injury and Ishmael Welsh has returned to Yeovil Town after his loan spell ended on Saturday. Talks to extend the winger's deal have failed.

Tindall said: "Trevor is 50-50 and Rafa is doubtful. He picked up a little knock against Cambridge.

"Everyone was disappointed with what happened on Saturday and we have all watched the video. It was good to get everything out in the open and hopefully we can learn from that now.

"We have a great opportunity to put the record straight tonight and get back on track but we know it is going to be another tough one.

"Coming up against a former manager always adds a bit more spice to the game but at the end of the day Rushden are just another team in front of us. As long as we approach it in the right way and in a professional manner I am sure we can come away with a good result."
