FC COLERNE been busy bringing in new players ahead of their April cup final against either Little George FC or Pig and Whistle United in the Westernsport Trophies-sponsored WG Parr Trophy.

The First Division outfit, who still have an outside chance of gaining promotion to the top flight, have raided Box Rovers to sign Stuart Beeho who can play either in goal or as a defender.

Beeho has also played for Corsham Park Rangers in the past and scored three goals for them in the 2004/05 season.

Colerne have also signed midfielders Jamie Corp and Ben Scarth as they look to strengthen their squad for the conclusion of the season which could see them lose three players to work commitments.

Third Division Sir Audley's Arms, who recently tempted Somerford's top scorer Chris Yeo to join them, have returned to Yeo's former club to lure away John Goad.

Goad, who can operate in numerous positions but prefers to play as an attacking midfielder, will be a great asset to the Arms who are currently in third place in the table and are likely to feature in the race for a promotion place.

Teams from Division Four were the busiest before and on deadline day Leaders Bromham (Sunday) signed on two new players. Sixteen-year-old old Hugh Thomas hopes there will be no doubting his ability between the sticks should he get the call-up and the experienced Steve Bennett has joined the villagers as defensive cover should they have any midweek matches.

Little George's new acquisition Ben Highmore came on as a substitute for the Chippenham-based side in last Sunday's 6-0 home victory over AFC Bell, and if the former Calne and Biddestone man who is now at Larkhall can live up to his reputation then he should be a great addition to Matt Scoble's side.

Forty-year-old goal keeper Les Scouse' Donohue has joined Chippenham West End Club after an absence of a couple years from playing on the league.

Donohue was part of the Gladstone Liberal Club side when they were beaten 1-0 by Cooper-Avon Rangers in the 2002 presstoprint sponsored Knockout Cup final.

Basement side Old Road Tavern have showed improved form of late.

Although they are not winning they are not getting hammered every weekend and now that Walid Khayat and Dean Packham have been tempted to Bernie Court's side a win could be on the horizon.

Khayat is said to be a top class shot stopper and Packham is player who will give 100 per cent wherever he is asked to play.

Chris Purdom has rejoined Trowbridge Town Supporters' Club after keeping them waiting for much of the season and Matthew Hale has moved from The Rising Sun FC to bitter rivals Churchill Arms.

Premier Division Trowbridge Harriers have added Harvey Herdman to their squad, while Miles Murphy-Young joined First Division strugglers Hullavington.

Second Division FC Bradford netted youngster Ashley Keirl and WG Parr Trophy semi-finalists Pig and Whistle United welcome unknown quantity Josh Oxenbould to the Melksham-based outfit.

Blue Circle (Sunday), who are at the wrong end of Third Division table, will be hoping that Simon Dolbar can bring a reversal in fortunes for them and he will more than likely feature in today's match against Pack Horse Rangers.
