YOUNGSTERS at Chard Independent School are celebrating World Book Day by reading, designing and dressing up.
Children from year six read three lively stories for pupils, teachers and parents at an assembly including the Adventures of Peter Rabbit, Horrid Henry's Nits and Charlie Cook's Favourite Book.
Children from the reception and nursery classes dressed up as various characters, while children in years two and three took part in a poster-designing contest for their favourite books.
Lorena Hall won the poster designing competition, with runners up Alexander Agnew, Tom Dumble and Daniella Gearing all receiving book tokens.
